SAVE THE DATES! May 19th & 20th, 2011 |

The Aviation Education Corporation, a not-for-profit organization that promotes
Aviation and Aerospace education, is hosting the Westchester Aviation /Aerospace
Education Expo on Thursday, May 19, 2011 and Friday, May 20, 2011 at the IBM Flight Facility, Hangar W, Westchester County Airport, 160 Airport
Road, White Plains, NY 10604.
The goal of this year’s event is to ignite the interest of middle and
high school students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in the
context of aviation and
aerospace.
Many aviation and aerospace educators, engineers, research scientists, and
aircraft maintenance personnel, will be on hand to discuss, display, and
demonstrate how important science, technology, engineering, and mathematics are
to the many career opportunities available in the aviation/aerospace industry.
You will know ahead of time the scheduled times and content for the various
demonstrations, screenings, presentations, and activities. Event staff will be
assigned to each visiting group and will stay with you and your students
throughout the day. Before the end of the current school year, we will forward
you a list of the presenters, exhibits, and detailed hands-on activities.
An information packet will be provided to you before the event. Flyers and
posters will be provided to your school in March 2011.
Transportation to and from the airport will be the responsibility of the
participating school districts. Please let us know if you have any
transportation budgetary issues preventing your students from attending.
Schools may attend either day. Please complete and fax back to us the enclosed
flyer (Schools Tab) so that the organizers of the event can have an idea as to
your school’s interest and estimated level of participation. There is no charge
for attending.
